Harley - Days 4 and 5

Vroom, Vroom...

We think Harley is trying hard to rev up his engine!

The past 24 hours have been filled with multiple meals - each 2 cans of KD strong and now he is also eating dry with the canned and eating it all. He is also drinking on his own. This is really great news!

There is quiet simply NOTHING like seeing a starved dog take the step to eat on his own. His intestinal tract is working well and it seems this is at least one area we can put a smiley face in the column on Harley's to-do list.

We have Harley on multiple antibiotics to proactively treat for Leptospirosis and Tick borne illness. Although just this morning the majority of his tick panel came back negative. Hard to believe when he was encased in a sort of tick armor...

His blood values improved again although very slightly- it is a step in the right direction and shows that his bone marrow is working to fight back.

The weekend will bring Harley some much needed rest from the poking and prodding but will not be without close care. He will also have some visitors from TSBR's DFW team to tell him firsthand how much we all are pulling for him and that he has a fan club the size of Texas cheering him on!

As soon as the balance of diagnostics are completed we will have a care plan to address the most serious issues like his kidney disease, heartworms, and enlarged prostate, and an estimate for that in place and will share that with our supporters.

In the meantime, we continue to provide on going stabilization and critical care and we think you all will agree that Harley has done more than we could have asked to rally.

Thank you from the bottom of our paws!
